In Mid, you should buy boots first to easily dodge Vel’Koz’s skills. Don’t let Vel’Koz make you lose too much blood, you can also sacrifice minion index to gain experience. Ask the jungler to gank to kill Vel’Koz early or notify teammates when you see Vel’Koz moving.
Support
You need to keep your distance and avoid getting poked too much by Vel’Koz. Try to kill Vel’Koz whenever he goes to place a ward to control vision.

How to counter Vel’Koz ?
Vel’Koz wild rift counter tips:
Keep your distance and don’t let Vel’Koz poke you too much in the early game.
Avoid fighting in small areas, group up, or engage in prolonged fights with Vel’Koz. Vel’Koz’s abilities deal area damage, poke from a distance, and deal high damage over time.
Engage Vel’Koz while his ultimate is on cooldown.
Prevents Vel’Koz from getting blue buff. Vel’Koz won’t be constantly poking because he needs a lot of mana to use his skills in the early game.
Assassinate Vel’Koz with mobile heroes and deal burst damage.
Vel’Koz lacks mobility so ambush him to kill him when he’s alone.
Avoid Vel’Koz’s ultimate with mobile or flash heroes. Use knockup, silence, and stun to interrupt Vel’Koz’s ultimate.
