Her ultimate allows her to create a wall for quick movement, enabling her to support teammates or gank enemies efficiently. You should choose champions with high mobility to counter Taliyah. Avoid standing still to prevent damage from her and apply early pressure to make her lose her advantage.

Jungle

Taliyah is a very strong jungler with early game pressure, so you need to place wards in the river and jungle entrances to detect her ganks early. Ambush Taliyah in the jungle and quickly secure the Dragon or Rift Herald early.

With mobile and strong early-game champions like Master Yi, Evelynn, and Rammus, you can weaken Taliyah early on. Master Yi’s ultimate is immune to all slow effects, and Taliyah’s Unraveled Earth can’t stop him from charging in. Evelynn’s stealth allows her to flank, steal jungle camps, and surprise Taliyah. Meanwhile, Rammus’s high movement speed makes it easy for him to approach Taliyah and control her. You can also use champions that can completely neutralize Taliyah’s poke and burst damage playstyle, such as Dr. Mundo, Kindred, and Fiddlesticks. Dr. Mundo has an early crowd control immunity mechanism and healing that far surpasses Taliyah’s poke damage. Fiddlesticks’ wide-area fear from bushes is stronger than Taliyah’s poke range. Conversely, you shouldn’t use champions like Pantheon, Jax, Zac, Amumu, Malphite, or Volibear against Taliyah in the jungle. Anyone who dashes, jumps, or dashes into her will trigger explosive mines, get stunned, and take massive damage. Taliyah will continuously kite with her first ability from a distance or knock back any attempts to get close to her.

Mid

In mid lane, when facing Taliyah, try to clear minions quickly so she can’t roam and pressure other lanes. Stay behind minions to avoid being poked from a distance.

Prioritize choosing mobile Assassin champions with high burst damage because Taliyah’s weakness lies in dealing damage over time, relying on skill shots, and needing a safe distance. Taliyah is most vulnerable to Assassin champions like Katarina, Fizz, and Zed, who can quickly close the gap and dodge abilities. Kassadin is a strong counter to Mages due to her passive reducing magic damage. Additionally, Annie and Veigar have many crowd control abilities with wide-area stuns, easily blocking movement and bursting damage to take down Taliyah before she can cast her abilities.

You shouldn’t pick these champions when facing Taliyah in mid lane. Vex and Qiyana will be countered by Taliyah’s dash ability. Smolder, Ryze, Orianna, and Aurora have short to medium attack ranges and lack instant dash through walls – Taliyah can easily poke them from a distance beyond their counter-attack range.

Prevent Taliyah’s burst damage with the following items: Bloodthirster, Sterak’s Gage, Immortal Shieldbow, Maw of Malmortius. These items share the common feature of automatically activating large shields when low on health, preventing Taliyah’s burst damage.

How to counter Taliyah ?

Avoid prolonged fights with Taliyah, as she has powerful long-range poke capabilities. Quickly close the distance and finish Taliyah off with burst damage.

Be careful with Taliyah when fighting in tight areas where her abilities can easily corner you.

Don’t let Taliyah farm or clear the jungle too quickly. Try to kill Taliyah early in the game to reduce her power.

You should stick with your teammates and avoid going alone, as Taliyah can easily approach you from a distance.

Avoid champions that rely on dash abilities like Lucian or Yasuo, as they will trigger Taliyah’s skill 3 trap. Instead, choose champions with teleportation or illusion abilities like Zed or Kassadin.

Interrupt Taliyah’s ultimate ability by dealing damage to her. When Taliyah erects a wall to move across the map, simply taking damage will cause her to fall.
